Early the next morning the girls were busy loading their bags into Laura’s car. The sunlight was shining down through the trees and the air was pleasant, cool enough to warrant a thicker shirt but warm enough not to need a jacket. They all stood by the car, waiting, as Laura emerged from the cabin with the last of the bags and locked the door behind her.
“Alright…” she started, “water is off in the kitchen and bathroom, stove is off, thermostat is set to “away mode”, garbage is out, lights are off,” she stopped to pull the door a few times. “and the door is locked!” she finished with a smile. “Everybody got that? There may be a quiz later!”
The others giggled and nodded, rolling their eyes at her antics. The last of the gear was packed and Laura slid into the driver’s seat with Eve in the passenger's seat beside her. Meanwhile, Rayne, Trisha and Klaire took the back seat. “Before we leave,” Rayne said with a smile, “I’d just like to thank everyone for a lovely weekend. I had a lot of fun.” she finished with a wink.
The others smiled, nodding their agreement. “We’re going to have some good stories to tell at the sorority meeting on Friday.” Trisha smiled, already gleeful at the thought.
Rayne gave her a devious little smile. “Actually, I doubt it will come up.” she said as she leaned back and tried to look at the other four all at once.

They all looked at one another in confusion, just as Eve’s eyes slowly closed and her head fell to her chest. Trisha let out a small gasp of surprise before her eyes rolled up into her head as it fell back against the headrest while her body slumped into the seat and relaxed. Laura gave Rayne a playful smile just before her eyes slid closed and her head tilted to the side to rest on top of Eve’s head.
“What did you do?” Klaire asked as her body started to feel heavy.
“Nothing you’ll remember sweetie.” She smiled as she held up her hand and wiggled her fingers in a playful wave. “Nighty night!” With that, Klaire’s eyes drifted close and she sighed as she slumped against the car door.
Rayne surveyed her handy work as the girls began to repeat “I will remember only a fun trip, getting closer to the girls, and enjoying myself” in unison. But to her surprise she found herself repeating it, too.
“What’s…” Rayne started to ask as her own eyes began to drift closed. “Oh shit.” she mumbled, just before she sank back into the seat and let out a soft sigh. She realized all too late that when Klaire had hypnotized her she was given a suggestion to simply follow all the orders that she had given the others. And that order included forgetting what had happened when the weekend was over. She wanted to be angry, not with Klaire but with herself for being so careless. But before she could get to that point, the memory of why she was angry faded away, as did everything else that had happened that weekend. Replaced with the feeling of a good time, and the enjoyment of getting closer to the other girls.
A few moments later the girls, almost in unison, all seemed to take a deep breath and sit up, looking at one another with a smile. “Are we all ready?” Laura asked happily as she started the car, not really waiting for an answer. A moment later the radio came on and all of the girls started to argue about what song or station to play, all except Klaire who just rolled her eyes and pulled out her book, curling up against the car door to try and read. As they drove away, she couldn’t help but be surprised by just how little reading she’d managed to get done.

Back on campus Klaire pushed the door open to their dorm room and Rayne followed behind, both dropping their bags a few feet from the door and slumping down into their respective beds. “That was a fun trip,” Klaire admitted, “thank you for bringing me along.”
“You're welcome!” Rayne said with an unusually warm, genuine smile. “I’m glad you had fun, and I hope you were able to get to know the others a bit better.” Of course, the irony of her statement was lost on both of them.
“I did…” Klaire started, “and if you’re ok with it, I wouldn’t mind going to the sorority meetings with you from now on. Maybe not to be hypnotized, but just you know…to hang out with the girls. That sort of thing.” Klaire was openly blushing. She knew it but she couldn’t stop herself, and it annoyed the hell out of her.
“Of course.” Rayne smiled. A part of her felt vindicated, like this had all been planned, but she couldn’t remember why.
A moment later there was a knock at the door. Both girls looked up to see Josh standing in the doorway, waving casually. They had, apparently, forgotten to close the door. “Morning ladies!” he said with a smile.
“Well, hello handsome.” Klaire said with a smile, while Rayne just rolled her eyes with a disgusted sigh and leaned back on her bed.
“Did you ladies have a good weekend?” he asked warmly.
“Yeah, it was fun!” Klaire said more excitedly than she intended. “I got to get to know some of the girls and just relax. Didn’t get much reading done though.”
“That’s good. Anything noteworthy happen? Anything worth gossiping about?” His voice took on a lower, more suggestive and seductive tone.
Rayne gave another disgusted sigh and rolled her eyes again, only to hear Klaire reply in a flat monotone. “Nothing unusual happened this weekend, it was relaxing and calm. Nothing out of the ordinary happened.”
This caught both Josh and Rayne by surprise. Both of the hypnotists looked at Klaire curiously. “Huh…” Rayne said, almost to herself.
“Noticed that too, huh?” Josh asked, glancing over at Rayne.
“Noticed what?” Klaire asked, sounding more annoyed and much more in character.
Josh glanced at Rayne and then back to Klaire, before looking back at Rayne. “So Rayne, did anything noteworthy happen this weekend that you’d like to share now?” he asked as his voice slipped into a slow, hypnotic tone.
Rayne glared at Josh, about to tell him off, when all of a sudden a wave of relaxation washed over her body. Her face visibly softened and her voice was monotone when she spoke. “Nothing unusual happened this weekend, it was relaxing and calm. Nothing out of the ordinary happened.”
Klaire raised an eyebrow and looked at Josh. “What was that?”
Rayne shook her head to clear it. “What was what?” she asked in confusion.
Josh casually closed the door to the room and moved over towards the blinds on the window. “I could be wrong…” he said with a smile, “but I think there is a bit more to this weekend than meets the eye.”
“What are you doing?” Rayne asked, annoyed as Josh slowly closed the blinds, blocking out most of the sun but still allowing a slight glow of ambient sunlight through the window. Just enough to light the room.
“Testing a theory.” he said simply, looking at Klaire. “You don’t mind, do you?” He focused on Klaire, completely not even acknowledging Rayne at this point.
“I don’t…mind what?” Klaire asked, folding her arms defensively.
Josh gave Klaire a soft, devious smile as he gently put his hands on her shoulders, and started to sway ever so gently with her from side to side, looking into her eyes. “Just focus on my eyes now Klaire. My deep…soft eyes. You’ve found yourself held captive by them before…found that you just enjoy…looking into my eyes. Everything else just starts to drift away…everything else starts to slip from your mind…just my words, my soft…soothing words…and the look of my eyes…as I look deeper…and deeper…into your mind…into your soul. You can feel that tingling…that sensation that you enjoy so much when you simply start to drift…and let go. When you start to fade away…and just…drop…and relax now, Klaire. Like you’ve done for me so many times before…just drop…and relax.”
Rayne watched in stunned silence as her uptight roommate was slowly hypnotized right before her eyes. Her face slowly slackened as her eyes stared vacantly into Josh’s, and her body, which had been tense and tight, stiff and defensive, loosened slowly with each word until she was so relaxed that her arms fell loose and limp at her sides. Until she just stood there, leaning slightly forward. At some point she tried to say something, but all that really happened was that her mouth opened and then never shut, never moved, never formed a word at all. She just stared back and slipped away into a trance…just like that. Rayne was jealous…and more than a little aroused.
Josh leaned in and whispered into Klaire’s ear with a smile. “Close your eyes…close your eyes and just…” he paused to give her a slow, tender kiss. “Sleep.”
As he pulled back from the kiss Klaire’s eyes rolled up into her head and she slumped down onto her bed, slouching forward as if she had fallen asleep sitting up.
Josh turned to Rayne and held up his finger to his lips in a “shhh” motion. Which, of course, made Rayne roll her eyes and sigh again. Josh ignored it and turned back to Klaire. “What really happened this weekend Klaire? What is it that you…don’t remember?”
Needless to say, both Josh and Rayne were dumbfounded as Klaire recanted the entire activities of the weekend, every detail that she had been suggested to forget. From start to finish it took nearly half an hour to explain. And all Rayne could do was sit there, blushing more deeply by the second. She wanted to make Klaire stop, wanted to kick Josh out of her room, but she also was too turned on to really care. There was something about the story, and about Josh’s ability to just draw this out of her, that made it so much more arousing than she thought it should be.
When the story was done, Klaire remained upright but still slumped forward with her shoulders limp and her head down, completely hypnotized. Rayne on the other hand was in stunned silence for quite a while. At least until Josh finally spoke up. “Well, it seems like you had a good time this weekend.”
Rayne blushed again as she tried to compose herself. “I don’t know, I don’t remember it either.”
“Yeah,” Josh replied, “I wondered about that. Why do you think you don’t remember?   Or maybe you do and you’re just covering it up, hmmm?” he finished teasingly.
“Alright.” Rayne said, sighing in frustration. “It’s time for you to go, I’ll take care of Klaire, since clearly I can, given what she just said!” Rayne stood up and walked over to the door, ready to give Josh the boot, but when she turned to look back at him he was standing right behind her, staring into her eyes with a playful smile.
“You don't really want me to leave…do you Rayne.” he asked in his hypnotic voice that she had heard him use on Klaire just a few minutes ago.
Rayne gasped as she felt a rush of arousal through her body. “I…I mean…” she hesitated. In her mind she was running through a thousand replies, but the longer she hesitated the more quickly they disappeared. Something about how close he was, how confident he was, and the fact that he had just completely blanked Klaire was just so…exciting and irresistible. “I…” she stuttered, still not answering.
Josh smiled and moved a finger up to her lips. “Shhhh.” He let a pause linger in the air for a moment. “Rayne…” he said in a soft, almost asking tone.
        “...Y…Yes?” she asked nervously.
“Rayne…” he said, moving a bit closer to her and making her instinctively back up. But even as she did he stayed with her, walking her slowly back against the still closed dorm room door.
“...Wha…what?” she asked, trying to hide the nervousness in her voice.
“I’m going to hypnotize you, Rayne.” he said matter of factly, a soothing but dominant and aggressive tone in his voice. “You’d like that now, wouldn’t you Rayne?”
The younger woman swallowed nervously but still couldn’t find the words to respond. She just nodded slowly in agreement.
Josh smiled and tilted his head, sliding his nose along hers. “Nighty night. “ He whispered before kissing her.
Rayne’s eyes fluttered closed as she gasped for a split second and then relaxed against the door as her body enjoyed the kiss. She felt his hands move down her arms sensually as he glided them down along her upper arm, down her forearms and along the back of her hands, until he slowly took her hands into his and held them there softly. There was something almost romantic about it. And for some reason, despite him being the annoying semi-not-really-boyfriend of her stubborn roommate, she couldn’t help but melt into the kiss. If she were being honest, the fact that Klaire was in a relationship with him seemed to make it even more exciting. The kiss deepened and she let out a soft moan as Josh leaned back and broke the kiss, looking into her eyes deeply. Rayne simply smiled back at him as a flush crept up her face. “Was that supposed to put me to…” she started, but was cut off as Josh tugged both of her hands down and towards him in a very quick jerk that made her whole body shake. It took her completely by surprise and cleared her mind of all thoughts as her fight or flight instinct kicked in. And then he said a single word, as if finishing her sentence.
        “Sleep!”
And she did. Rayne’s eyes closed before she could recover from the tug and her whole body fell forward, softly faceplanting into his chest and sighing peacefully, as if this was the place she always wanted to be.
Josh smiled and glanced back at Klaire, still asleep, still hypnotized and unaware, before turning his attention back to Rayne. He slowly tilted her back against the door and moved a single finger under her chin to tilt her head up so he could see her lovely sleeping face. “Rayne, why don’t you tell me what…really happened this weekend. What you forgot, and your perspective on everything now. You can do that can’t you?”
Rayne nodded softly and began to tell the story from her perspective, a perspective she would never remember telling him. But something that would give him…more than a few ideas for the future.

The End… for now!

Curious what might have happened had someone walked in on Josh and his escapades with the roommates? There is an extended ending covering that very outcome that you can find here: Queens are Wild - N.C.U. - Epilogue Extended Ending</a>
